No. All offers / bids are binding purchase agreements at ClassicNames.com.

If the buy it now option is not used, the highest offer / bid at the end of the 72 hour closing auction will result in a binding purchase / sale agreement with our members.

How does the auction system work and what is proxy bidding?

The ClassicNames.com auction system is fully automated from a bidding standpoint. Each domain name has a guaranteed sale reserve and minimum increments listed for the ongoing bidding process.

Proxy bidding allows members to enter a maximum amount they are willing to pay for a domain. The amount of your maximum bid is completely confidential. If someone places a bid higher than the current price, ClassicNames.com will then bid automatically, on your behalf, and at the lowest possible bid increments until your maximum bid amount is reached.

This process continues until another participant exceeds your maximum bid, or until you win the auction. You will be notified by email if you have been outbid on a domain name you are currently winning. The process also sends a notification email to ALL bidders for that name when a new bid is placed, not just the previous high bidder. If you have been outbid, you can return to the auction to place a higher maximum bid amount.
